Due to the economic circumstances of the township, most children remain on the streets during school vacation. Izizwe Projects has helped provide a safe and fun environment for them by organizing a holiday program. During the holiday program, each child receives a small daily meal (sandwich, fruit) and refreshments, as well as the possibility to participate in activities such as sports, arts and crafts, singing and dancing, and a talent show on the last day. Each of our previous holiday programs has attracted over 200 children per day from the township.

As a volunteer, you can get involved by helping with activities such as:

  • Dance
  • Sports
  • Art: paint, drawing
  • Fun activities: some games for kids, such as “What’s the time, Mr Wolf?”
  • Talent show
  • Preparing sandwiches and drinks
